Repost of a sort: Having an Angel moment

I'm looking for hairstyles for men with long hair; just ideas, suggestions. I googled.
First thing, I found this gallery. It has quite a few pictures, I stopped in the middle because of the half a dozen I saw, only one had even the start of a long hair. The rest had SHORT hair, with some bangs. Hello, men's fashion people, "not bald" does not yet equal "long". I don't know what penis-related issues you people have, but you really need to redefine "long" for hair purposes. Two inch isn't it.
The second was not much better, and the instructions required so much work that - no, sorry. I need something that would look okay and keep the hell out of my eyes, not something that would take two hours, half a gallon product, and specialised equipment just to get right.
The third link involved this line: "Long hair for men is in style these days, but long meaning not much longer than shoulder length." - so I'm already sickened. The fourth, somewhat worse, included these questions: "What hair length is the norm for men? Can men have very long hair? Is it ok for men to wear a ponytail?"
At this point I think that the word "style" should be removed from "hair" in my search. I also start thinking to look using words such as "Viking" and "early Saxon". These links might interest you a lot more.
* Viking Answer Lady - Viking hair
* Viking clothing (I get distracted)
* Men's braids (not so much historical, but hey, why not; I don't get why it's special for men, but don't get me started on gender just yet)
* For Sheila: Should Men Have Long Hair: What Does The Bible Say (?)
* This is an utterly shiny place
* This site has a gallery, for those of you only in it for the eye candy
* Influence of Politics and Religion on the Hair and Beard

Date: 2007-07-27 07:51 pm (UTC)Are they doing something with the hair? Or just letting it be? It's just that there's a heatwave and hair is becoming too hot to live with. I pull it up, I look like a painting of a girl in the 18th century or something. *grin*

Date: 2007-07-29 08:43 pm (UTC)I should do the thing with the many ties. I sometimes do with two, that's indeed cooler than the one, I'm just lazy about actually getting things neat...
