Not getting most comments in my email, and probably most other non-lj email as well. I tried tracking back everything I've been doing lately but that's not working too well.

Just FYI.

I feel so disconnected.

ETA: stuff starts pouring back in.

Last week was really bad. I wasn't getting any comments. But I seem to be getting them okay now.

Do you by any chance have squidge mail?

No, I use gmail. I was getting all my other mail, just not LJ comments. As I said, though, it seems to be working okay now.

Welcome to my world. I haven't gotten an email notification of a comment or a response to a comment in almost 4 weeks. Yesterday LJ finally started putting responses and comments that were placed on my posts into the "message center" but they still aren't getting emailed to me. As for trackbacks or responses to comments I post other places (like this one) -- yeah right. Still not getting them anywhere. Not even the message center.

I really want to throw rocks at 6A. Why the hell is fandom staying here?

*is getting everything in email from Insane Journal and is thinking of posting there more often instead grumble grumble*

I hate myself because the only reason I stay is that 'everyone else is doing it'. And in a slightly less pathetic phrasing, here is where all the news and fic and stuff exist, and sadly removing myself from that would necessitate a much more extreme change to my lifestyle than I'm willing to commit to at the moment.

I'd go live on my own island and post somewhere quiet, but then no one will read it at all, and it's not like I got hundreds of rabid fans here on lj ;) I can't afford a migration.

And I'm ranty too about how fandom raged and looked for a moment as if they're gonna do something, but then just backed off and got very quiet.

In a similar vein, I'm here because this is where my friends (and the authors) mostly post.

I thought it was very strange the way everyone got up in arms and created [livejournal.com profile] sevenfandomdays and then it all went nowhere. I also found it strange that the problems with LJ started right when those 7 days were to go into action. I couldn't post comments or entries for (wait for it) a week. No one has posted at the community about the results of the actions or if another go should be had at the action points discussed.

Finally, if about 34,000 is the extent of the fandom journals on LJ, I can't see the "voice of fandom" doing a hell of a lot around here. 34k out of over 3 million is not that big a number. The only way that percentage is going to mean something is if they become an organized squeaky wheel. And I think the way everything fizzled out shows exactly how UNorganized and UNunified fandom is by nature.

So yeah, ranty.

I didn't even know about this place, the community. And I feel tired, so tired of it all.

34k is a HUGE number if organised. They're just not. "We", I should say, are not. so we agree. And then we do nothing. sigh.
