Darla dances around the room in nothing but her petticoat. She's drunk on blood and opium, she's happy and swirling in circles. Her breasts flash in the candlelight, white marred with the red of her latest kill. Her hair trails behind her like gold, where the clumps aren't clotted with old blood.

Alone, without Angelus to hurt her. Without the new boy to hurt. She takes the candelabra and tilts it over herself, letting white, fire-hot liquid pour and drip on her chest, on her neck. The heat on her cooler skin makes her feel alive. Makes her almost remember what the sun was once like. Darla dances, and she's flirting with the fire.
