"So, all homo sapiens are dead?"

"Yup."

"Only apes now."

"Yup."

"And Immortals."

"Yes indeed."

"And the *apes* rule the world?"

"Don't look at me, I didn't make it happen. Homo Infinitus just don't have it in them to rule."

"Don't tell my ex. Why?"

"All the killing."

"Oh." Methos takes a long sip of his cool foamy banana beer. Not too bad, really. Better than the dead fly beer that was the norm back when giant lizards were in charge. High alcohol content, mild flavour, texture a bit thick. "But I'm still alive."

"Well," says his companion, "you're *special*."
