I'm new to Giles/Spike, and it's been a bit difficult to find, so I was glad to see this pop up! I really liked how this entire piece followed a trail of immediate details, and then the background just snuck in, in one sentence: Spike licks the side of his throat, a threat dulled by the fact he's been working with Giles - and occasionally sleeping with him - for years now, and if he hadn't done anything so far, he won't pick this moment to bite. Which happened to be a sentence I liked very much. =)
