The Plain One; Howard [that just looks so sad]
Title: The Plain One
Fandom: The Mighty Boosh
Rating: safe
Summary: pondering
Vince is a sunshine person, and he has sunshine eyes. And every time Howard looks into those bright, smiling blue eyes, he's reminded of just how crappy his own existence is.
It's not jealousy, not exactly. He doesn't want what Vince has, or to be exactly like Vince. He just wants things to go his way the way they go Vince's, or for people to like him for what he is. People like Vince for being a bit thick and always cheerful, and interested in hair products; why can't they like Howard for being mature... alright, for being grumpy and liking Jazz, and having a different fashion sense?
True, people also like Vince because Vince likes people, whereas Howard barely tolerates them, but even people Howard likes don't like him back. Howard had been studying Vince since they were both kids, wondering what it was about Vince that made his world a rainbow of happiness rather than a puddle of sludge, but in all these years, he never quite figured it out.

A bit on the angsty side, and shorter than I wanted it, but writing Howard pouting made me unhappy, so I stopped there.
