Say you have oh, two years of extra icons, but only about two months of paid time. What does that mean? Does that mean you get extra icons on a not-paid account, that you only get your extra for two months, or that... Okay, I have no idea what lj wants.

I just want to say I love you all, and I'm sorry for the repetitive puzzlement.

Once your paid time runs out you won't have your extra icons anymore. But if you get more paid time before your icons expire, you'll be able to use them again. Does that make sense?

It does. I've noticed that myself, and wondered if there was a way to work around it. It might be possible to work out something with the LJ folks, if you're really presistent about it, but so far it hasn't been an issue for me so I haven't pursued it.

Well, they do generally warn you when you buy userpics that extend past the expiration of your paid time. But, yes, I agree that it's a bit exploitative. I feel like if you've paid for extra userpics you should at least get double the normal amount for whatever account level you have.
