Happy Bithday!

For all your birthday needs, wishes and love, you might want to check [livejournal.com profile] bowie_daily.

LJ wanted a birthdate because of, viewing adult content etc. I entered David's, yes. It's my national holiday, not my birthday. It's also my and [livejournal.com profile] ceruleancat's anniversary. It's what we celebrate.

We don't celebrate birthdays.

Now everyone is saying happy birthday and I squint and read "happy holidays" instead and say thank you happily. My closer friends say "Happy David Day".

I'm usually too ... something, to explain to everyone. I thought this post might help or explain.

Don't think most people who tell me happy birthday actually read my LJ, though. What can you do.

Things that happened on my actual birth day: Mexico gained its independence from Spain. Aren't you thrilled? Also, Champollion announced that he has deciphered the Rosetta stone. The physics journal Annalen der Physik published Albert Einstein's paper "Does the Inertia of a Body Depend Upon Its Energy Content?", introducing the equation E=mc². Cliff Burton of Metallica died. Google was launched! On the exact same day and year, Asashoryu, a Mongolian sumo wrestler, was born. Fascinating stuff.

*g*

I made it easy on my husband. After years of living together and whatnot, we finally tied the knot on Jan 1, 2000. Easy to remember exactly how many years we've been married and a holiday almost everyone (with the possible exception of the Chinese) celebrates at the same time. Poor man has no excuse to forget our anniversary. I feel for him.

There are far worse things to celebrate than "David Day." The man has more brilliance, talent, and style in his little finger than I'll have when I'm dead. And he's one of those men who only looks better as he gets older. A crime, I tell you!

I have to nitpick at your phrasing. You probably won't have much brilliance, talent and style when you're dead. You'll be all corpsified.
